Kettle Pond

Took the dogs for a walk around Kettle Pond, today. Cold and overcast, 31 degrees, snow flurries. We saw an old rusted manure spreader in the woods, on the way to Kettle Pond.

Sunday, January 20, 2008

Just back from our daily walk with the dogs. Went to McLean Game Refuge, the trail was packed down pretty good...lots of traffic, easy walking, but a good vigorous workout in the cold! The dogs were happy to turn around and head back to the trailhead. We are so lucky to have access to such wonderful trails!

Arctic Temps!

Sunday morning. Barn chores are done, the horses are quietly munching their hay in the frigid dawn. Lewis and I are off to work answering phones and showing houses. Football game and food this afternoon at home with family & friends. Looking forward to warm weather!

Lost Acres in Winter

Just back from a walk with the 2 dogs and from taking a few pics at Lost Acres Orchard. If you haven't been there, it's a fabulous place to visit. Ginny and Tom Wutka carry fresh fruit from their apple orchard, outstanding pies, fresh breads, rolls, muffins, and lots of other comfort food. The menu's always great! This is a 'MUST VISIT' place! Is spring coming?

Not likely anytime soon. It's about 25 degrees, now, at 8:23. The horses are fed, the stalls are mucked and the horses are out for the day. Predictions are for a high of 40 degrees today, with ice, sleet and snow for Thursday night and into Friday am....UUGGHHH!!!! Off to a business planning meeting with our manager. Looking forward to a terrific 2008!
